  • Retirement Celebration for Pastor Russ: Please join us on Sunday, June 22, to celebrate the ministry of Pastor Russ Howard and wish him well on his retirement. Join us at 10am for his last service, with refreshments to follow. You can also give Pastor Russ your well wishes at an open house at the Spruce View Community Hall from 3-5pm, followed by a 5pm dinner and program. Please RSVP for the dinner by Sunday, June 15 on our website or call/text Les (403-588-6986) or Cheri (403-588-8028). If you’re able to contribute food for the meal, please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board.
  • Vacation Bible School: We are excited to welcome children ages 4-12 to A Mighty Fortress: Vacation Bible School, July 14-18! Registration is open on our website
  • Bridal Shower for Mackenzie Kure:   Kenzie will be having a bridal shower on July 20th All ladies are welcome! There will be more details to follow.
  • Life Coach at King of Kings  What is life coaching?  Life coaching is all about having a conversation or a series of conversations that help you figure out what really matters to you and what makes your life feel fulfilling.  We have access to a Certified Life Coach, Deirdre Franks, here at King of Kings.  This is a ministry supported by the Great Commission Fund.  Please see the poster on the bulletin board in the foyer for more information and available time slots.

Kids Sunday School: Children will be dismissed after the Children’s Sermon.

Farewell to Samantha/Sunday School Picnic:  Today: In co-ordination with Sam’s last day, where there will be cake, coffee, and cookies in the fellowship hall, hot dogs and ice cream treats will be provided and served on the north side of the church. Bring your bag chairs and snacks to share to celebrate with us!

Call Meeting: There will be a call meeting for calling a new pastor on June 8 After the service and lunch

Taco Bar Potluck: On Sunday, June 8, we will be having a taco bar potluck lunch after service. The tacos/chips will be provided. Please bring the fillings for the tacos. 

VBS Work Bee: Please consider joining us on Tuesday, June 10, 10am-3pm (bring a bag lunch).We will be painting, cutting, creating!

Historical Display in the Narthex – The display in the church narthex, created by the Dickson Store Museum, highlights the shared history of the church and school buildings in Dickson. It offers a glimpse into the early days of the community and how faith and education were deeply connected. On May 23, we were pleased to welcome delegates from the Federation of Danish Associations in Canada Conference. During their visit to Dickson, they toured the Danish Canadian National Museum, the Dickson Store Museum, and our church, celebrating our community’s strong roots and enduring legacy. On May 31, the Dickson Store Museum’s AGM and Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon will be held in the fellowship hall.

Register by Friday: Young Adults (ages 18-35ish) are invited to join us here at King of Kings for a Young Adult Retreat, June 6-8. Our theme will be “You Will Be My Witnesses” based on Acts 1:8. Young Adults from across the province have been invited as well as a number of presenters from different mission organizations. The registration cost is $60/person and the deadline to register is this Friday, May 23. Talk to Samantha for more information or visit the website.

Back to the Garden: A spring Workshop for Women: Certified Life Coach, Dierdre Franks, is putting on a FREE workshop on beauty, fear and freedom for women! It will be held on May 24 at 1:00pm right here at the church! If you are interested see the bulletin board for more info!
